On top of the world!

Yesterday Warner Rojas accomplished something very few people have, to reach the top of Mount Everest. {by the end of the 2010 climbing season, there had been 5,104 ascents to the summit by about 3,142 individuals, with 77% of these ascents being accomplished since 2000}

He is the first Costa Rican to reach the summit. 

He has climbed over 35 Costa Rican mountains and 22 overseas, including the Aconcagua in Argentina, at 6.962 meters.

BRAVISIMO!!! Warner on achieving this goal and lifetime dream.

I want to share with you part of the process of making our new balloon clowns.

Each piece is made entirely by hand, a process that takes several days to complete.

on a Sunday morning...

I spent my Sunday morning finishing clowns for an order.

The finishing included embroidering faces and attaching hats to the balloon clowns.

These cuties left for San Francisco today.

very, very proud {Giro d'Italia 2012}

Andrey Amador is the first Costa Rican to ever win a grand tour stage. Yesterday he won the 14th stage of the Giro d'Italia.

A success that made 5 million Costa Ricans feel very proud!!!

crochet shawl {for my grandmother}

I made this baby alpaca crochet shawl for my grandmother. 

She taught me how to knit since I was 8 years old. 

I do not see her very often since she lives in Costa Rica, but whenever I can I make something for her... especially shawls and scarves.

She is 92 years old. I miss her terribly.

My mom came to visit us from Costa Rica last week and left yesterday afternoon. I played tourist for a week walking around Washington with her. I also took her to Middleburg and Leesburg.

Hope all of you celebrating Mother's Day yesterday had a wonderful day!!!

I have always followed my dreams and that little inside voice that tells me what to do, how to do it, and where to go.

It is not always easy... and sometimes I feel I am getting stuck and don't know how to continue, but most of the time what I do gives me tremendous joy.

This is one of those weeks in which I feel very grateful for all the people I have met through Fournier.

I would like to thank all of you who have sent me emails with such beautiful and kind words and to Daily Candy Kids, The Junior, ebabeeLikes, and Bellissima Kids for the amazing features on my new line of toys, and the FW12/13 line of clothing & accessories.
The toys and pillows are in the SHOP now. The clowns have been flying and we are working round the clock to keep a good stock!!!
