where I get creative {an interview with Peggy Juche}

Happy Monday! Today I have the pleasure to introduce you to Peggy Juche. She writes one of my favorite blogs and daily reads, pauletpaula.

Tell us a bit about your background
My background, well... I am German, with a French husband and 2 kids. My girl is 4 years old and my boy is 1. At the moment we live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands which we enjoy.
I used to work in the hotel industry until I started to write my blog during my second maternity leave. Now I joined a start up which is a great experience, continue with my blog (of course, it is like my 3rd baby) and do some work for La Petite Magazine.
Describe your Creative Space
Haha...when I see this question and look at my creative space I just see a big mess. Lots of things dumped there and I should actually take care of it, arrange it properly and put it back to the nice little area of mine it was before.

Describe your typical Creative time
Whenever I have time, whenever I have an idea... there is no schedule.

Two things you can't live without
Definitely my computer where everything is arranged, bookmarked and sorted
MY way :)
And my little notebook which I use a lot, it is always open and all my ideas, thoughts and inspiration goes in there. I am very old fashioned with this and love to write things down.

Do you have any routine or rituals in your work and creative habits?
Kind of yes. I switch on my PC and get a glass of water and a yoghurt. I open up my outlook and internet. Then I open all pages I will read to get my morning fix. My reader, online news, FB, Twitter etc... once read I close them. More or less every day starts like this. When I had this first tour I will get more breakfast... Now I will open my notebook and see what I have written down or if there are things on top of the list and I will start there!

How do you keep focused?
Very good question because I feel I still need to find a better way to actually stay focused. By now I close my mail, FB, Twitter...when I need to oncentrate... this really helps. I need to work in a tidy space as well or I get distracted all the time. I definitely do not have time to do everything that I have in my head. And in the end, since I am a mother, my kids are the biggest motivation to actually focus... to have time for them when I am done.

What is your primary source of inspiration?
This is actually a difficult question or maybe not even... but it is a little bit of everything. Life in general, people, my kids of course... Going through the streets with big eyes, sitting in the sandpit and listen to kids, dreaming... really pretty much anything. That is why I always have a tiny Moleskine with me, to write things down...

What part of your creative process do you enjoy the most?
The making. I like to do things and I like to finish things. The moment you are proud because you made it are the best.

What are you working on now?
A few new columns for my blog and 2 other surprises!1 surprise I already announced some time ago and I really hope to get it ready very soon! I will keep you updated :)
And of course on the success of the new company I am part of...
