on bikram yoga {and 1lb. a day}

I started practicing Bikram yoga two weeks ago at a local studio and could not be happier!

{Bikram Yoga is a series of twenty-six Hatha Yoga postures and two Pranayama breathing exercises designed to provide a challenging, invigorating, rejuvenating and effective yoga experience. Conducted in a heated room (The room is heated to 42 degrees celsius / 105 degrees fahrenheit during a 90 min. class), Bikram Yoga detoxifies the body through perspiration, tones the muscles and flushes every cell and organ in the body.}

It is exciting and it is effective, but it is hard, very hard... or perhaps it becomes easier with time. The first class was all about "staying in the room" for me. Following classes have been more relaxed as I am now memorizing the postures and getting deeper into each of them.
Bottom line: I have been losing weight since I started practicing!!! How much weight? About 1lb. a day in the last week, but hey, I have also stopped eating sweets and bread.
{note: This is the reason why you are now missing my baked goods on this space}

Have a lovely weekend!

  2. This looks very hard for me.. all that balance. : ) Wow! Good on you for losing that weight (that you don't seem to really need to lose but what the heck)! 42ºc? What?! Crrazy. But you're looking really good!

    That's it, I'm starting yoga... 1lb a day? That's so amazing. Doubt there's any bikram yoga where I live, a small town in Norway, but i know there's one by Dupont Circle (I'm in D.C. quite often), maybe next time... Enjoy your workout :)

  4. I have always wanted to try this! However, I'm going to wait until winter. I think I'd appreciate those temps more then.
