behind the scenes {with a good heart}

Nine years ago I started a poverty alleviation project in the city of Cochabamba, Bolivia. I had the idea of knitting some baby sweaters and blankets... A handful of knitters and I started creating baby clothing that was an instant success when I took the first pieces to the United States and showed them at some of the major trade shows for children's wear.
Nowadays, more than 80 women knitters come from every city in Bolivia to work and knit for Fournier, my new line of women's wear and also for our private label contracts. This project is my pride & joy and was created with a good heart.

Yesterday, I received an email mentioning "a good heart" which made me think that sometimes people take it very lightly when they say things... or by good heart I must understand being healthy? In any case, what I mean to say is that there is a long way to go when you want to help people improve their lives, get education, have access to water, clothing and housing.
